Two things are central to following the radical simplicity of Jesus’s teachings: humility and discipline. By submitting to God’s Spirit of love in each of our lifestyle choices—from what we wear to the house we live in to the way we relate to God—elements of ourselves that are so habitualized we often fail to see them as choices that can be at odds with the identity God has for us.
